At a recent board meeting, the Board of Directors approved the development of a cloud-based solution where customers can access the software remotely on their own devices. This is projected to take 1 month to establish and be ready for sale. Worlducation will continue to manufacture tablets for their software however the directors have requested a particular emphasis be placed on clients purchasing the software for their own tablets. This decision aims to address the cashflow and current manufacturing limitations. Revenue to date is roughly $42 million which is why management is now projecting that revenue can increase to $55 million by end of 2020. In order to achieve this new revenue projection, management want to increase the sales staff KPIs for sales targets so that they are in line with the revenue target. You are expecting the sales manager and staff to rebut this request as Covid brings very uncertain times. In addition, placing an emphasis on selling only the software instead of their usual tablet and software package will be difficult for the sales team to navigate in the beginning which is likely to impact sales. If the sales manager and/or staff rebut these ideas, you are permitted to advise them that additional staff will be hired to assist with meeting the new sales targets. Additional training and guidelines will be offered to sales staff to assist them with any issues they are having with regards to the systems used and products being sold. In addition, you have been given permission to increase commissions by 0.5% for all sales staff. This is only to be offered if staff are obviously unhappy or if they request it. When negotiating you must not exceed the amounts agreed on at the board of director meeting.
