JC is a 26 year old adult male. He has graduated college one year ago but has been unable to find work. He was living with a roommate but can no longer afford to live on his own so has moved back in with his parents. JC nor his parents are thrilled with this turn of events. JC is single and has not been in a relationship for over 2 years. JC spends most of his time in his room gaming and drinking beer, occasionally going over to friend's homes. JC has little motivation to become involved in any activities and has become increasingly irritated by his situation. JC's parents feel JC is not trying very hard to find work and are constantly wishing to talk about it. JC states there are no jobs so there is no point sending out resumes to which no one will respond. JC's parents are also concerned about the amount and how often JC is drinking. JC thinks his parents are being old fashioned as he states he is never 'falling over' drunk. JC's parents have given him an ultimatum, that he must go see a counselor or he must move out. As JC has no where to go and no money, he makes an appointment with a counselor.
