John Bean, the son of a close family friend, has asked you to write a letter of recommendation. John is 30 years old and will graduate from the University of the West Indies in June. His GPA is 1.00 and he plans to work in investment banking, directing the trust funds of wealthy persons. He dresses professionally but has not been able to keep a job for more than six months or past the probationary period, depending on which is shorter. He is well spoken, but lazy.

During the last summer holidays John worked with you in the accounts department but you were forced to terminate his employment after he did not report for duty on three consecutive days. His excuse was that he had attended too many parties during the weekend and he was tired.
