John Rawls argues in his theory of justice that there are two principles as the basic governing principles of society and they are: 1) the principle of property rights and freedom of travel 2) that economic distribution and the guarantee of property rights trump all other governing principles 3) that there is a guarantee of liberties to each person and that social and economic inequalities are justified only if those inequalities benefit the least advantaged members of society 4) the principles of rights and justice
