Jonny is a self employed CPA.  His 2021 revenue from clients is $64,000 and his business expenses before home office and client meals are $25,000.  He has records to substantiate client golf outings of $1,500 and meals in restaurants with clients of $2,000. His office is in his home where he dedicates 500 of his 2500 square foot home to his office. Total home expenses before allocation to the home office are $2,500 interest and taxes, utilities and misc expenses are $1,000 and cost recovery on the entire house would be $6,000.  In addition to the above expenses he also sends a $50 gift card to each client (200 clients) for their birthday.
