Just above the images, have two radio buttons, one that says: "File name" and the other that says "Description". When the page first loads, the 'Description' button should be checked by default. Use the 'checked' HTML attribute to do this. When the user clicks on an image, you should append to some nearby div, the filename (if they clicked that radio button) or the alt attribute value (if they clicked on the description radio button).
