Larson, Inc. uses the allowance method of accounting for uncollectible accounts. The general ledger account for Accounts Receivable shows a debit balance of $40, 000. The Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts has a debit balance of $2, 000. Net sales for the year (all on credit) were $600, 000. In the past, 1 percent of net sales have proved uncollectible. An aging of accounts receivable accounts results in an estimate of $4, 000 of uncollectible accounts receivable. Prepare the ONE required journal entry to record the estimated uncollectible accounts expense if the company uses the % of sales approach. To receive credit, you must show your work and use all correct account names and amounts. If more than one journal entry is provided, no credit for any journal entry will be given
