Assessment Brief

The CEO of Schloss Adler has been left impressed with your report on motivation and improving Team performance within organisation and as a result you have been asked to apply for the company's Leadership Programme. Places on the programme are extremely sought after so you will have to clearly illustrate your comprehension of leadership theories you have studied whilst also exhibiting a clear aptitude to becoming a future leader within the organisation.

As part of the application process, you are required to produce a 10 minute slide presentation which illustrates and describes the key points of the following leadership styles:

• Transactional Leadership
• Transformational Leadership

The following sections should be considered as essential content and is provided as a guide for content and structure of both your presentation and interview:

Presentation:

1. A brief introduction to the subject of leadership and its importance in the workplace.

2. An illustration of the key characteristics for both Transactionaland Transformational leadership styles. (10 marks)

3.Identify industries / organisational functions where you feel that each of the two leadership styles might be most appropriate and provide clear reasoning as to why. You should illustrate how you might convince the Directors as to the merits of applying each style within the organisation. In order to support this, you must make use of a leadership model/theory discussed in the moduleto show how effective leadership can be developed in the organisation.

4.Identify and appraise yourcore leadership style and associated key characteristics where you should distinguish clearly the reason why you align yourself to a particular style. You are free to choose any style of leadership discussed in the module but you must provide a clear rationale as to why this has been acknowledged above others.

5.Provide a suitable conclusion that succinctly summarises the key points made

6.The presentation must be appropriately referenced using the published University of Bolton Harvard referencing format.
