Just by having one, consumers would embody being a righteous outsider or a rebel against injustice. Today people want to belong to a distinguished group yet at the same time express their individuality. Seeking the latest most expensive iPhone 15 model expresses individuality, and simultaneously makes people feel like they belong to a group of elites just as the original Mac did.
