Make a comment to your classmate: Unfortunately, autistic adults suffer from limited employment opportunities. I am dealing with this now at my job but from a different perspective. I have a student who will not be working postsecondary. Their challenging behaviors and full-time supervision prohibit them from obtaining a job. The school district requires them to have an employment goal for their transition skills. We have been debating with the district on how to make this relevant and reachable for the student and their needs. I will say, that I have seen a lot of organizations pop up with employment positions for individuals with special needs including coffee shops, local farm markets, and restaurants. I only hope it continues to rise as there is a greater need everywhere
