Respond to the two statements below separately using the information above.

First statement:

Based on my selection for the final project scenario, using a combination or hybrid of project management methodologies will be best. For example, just using the waterfall approach limits the amount of flexibility within a project, and there are less opportunities to course correct. However, the waterfall approach does help to prevent scope creep, provides defined roles and responsibilities within a team, as well as accurate plans and set deadlines. If a project were to just use an agile approach, there is more flexibility throughout the project and increased customer value, however loose planning can result in lack of known deadlines and budget. When using a hybrid approach such as waterfall and agile; the waterfall approach can be used to assist in the planning and design of a project, and the agile approach can be used to carry out tasks and testing.

Another example includes using both agile and kanban; when using agile approaches, although it offers a lot of flexibility can cause projects to often "easily go astray and run beyond the original project (University of Minnesota)", since it is a less structured approach. With Kanban, a visual approach is used through signboards and task cards to show the project workflow and task requirements that have been completed; unfortunately, with the Kanban approach, it cannot be used by itself and requires the use of another type of approach. Overall, using both agile and kanban approaches, offers a project the ability to adapt to changes while staying on track with tasks.

Second statement:

After looking at the different project management methodologies I came across the Critical chain project management (CCPM). After reviewing this method, I believe that it can be very effective and have good results. When we are managing projects, I think productivity and efficiency is important to the success of the project and helps the team work well together. I also think that the timing is curtail because customers want their product on time and not have to deal with delays. CCPM breaks down the time requirements to ensure that you are meeting deadline and keep the project on schedule. "CCPM is a great method for both small and large teams, but it mostly helps solve project efficiency problems. It can also be a great way to report work in progress to leadership."(Asana,2023). As mentioned, this can be used on different type of projects and be effective. I do believe that you can use different type of project management methodologies and combine them together to find something that works for your project and team. I think that is what will make you a good project manager is being able to understand your project requirements and your team to have a successful project. All projects and teams are different and finding what works best will ensure that you have an effective team that provides a quality product on time.
