Management by Objectives $($MBO$)$ Student Exercise

It is stated that goals are only useful to the extent that you are motivated to achieve them. In setting motivational goals, the following steps should be followed:

$1)$ Assign specific goals

$2)$ Assign measurable goals

$3)$ Assign challenging but achievable goals

$4)$ Encourage participation $$ use MBO

Assume that you are the manager of the electronics department at Tepperman$$s$.$ management has given you the specific job of increasing your sales by $15\%$ through your commissioned sales force during the new $4$ week selling period. This goal was originally conceived by Mr$.$ Tepperman himself. He has committed to increased advertising during this sales period as well as a bonus for all department managers if the goal is reached.
