Mandatory question 1. The average present precipitation of Bangladesh is about 2300 mm and standard deviation around 300 mm. Assume the following scenarios in some future years as follows; a. Future Scenario 2 : average precipitation 2800 mm and standard deviation around 300+R% mm b. Future Scenario 5 : average precipitation 2000 mm and standard deviation around 300-R% mm Please do the following tasks: i. Generate synthetic 100 sets of hypothetical data sets, for all the above two scenarios. Use Excel and especially, random data generation scheme, following very simple time series model Xi = + * Z; where, Z is a random number generated following normal distribution in between -1 to +1 and average =0. ii. Draw the output of synthetic data generated in excel graph/plot (scatter line diagram with different color) as no. of data vs. precipitation and compare the shapes for all the 3 scenarios including present condition. (Hints: Just plot 100 data as line diagram with different colors for different scenarios). iii. It is defined that precipitation below 1800 mm may cause for drought, while above 2800 mm may cause for flood. Now, calculate how the % flood and drought years will change for the last 2 scenarios compared to the present condition.
