Mere owns a house at the corner of Grantham Road and Laucala Bay Road, she has been approached by the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) advising her that due to the volume of traffic in the area and for safety reasons the road will be widened and the footpath at the corner will have to be widened to also protect pedestrians. This will however result in the new planning scheme cutting into a small portion of her property. The DTCP has exhausted all other option with regards to planning.
