Middle Years Programme [Acceleration] LAB REPORT (PHYSICS) STUDENT'S FULL NAME: SECTION: TEACHER: GRADE: 9 Oct. , 2022 GLOBAL CONTEXT: Orientation in time and space ATL SKILL(S): Communications, Social, Self-management, Research, and Thinking. Criterion B [ Inquiring & Designing ]............ Final Score :- Criterion C [ Processing & Evaluating ] Final Score :- Criterion D [ Reflecting on the impacts of science] .......... Final Score :-Remember that the format of your Lab report should follow Task You will be given a ticker-timer, paper tape, and meter stick. With your lab partners, design an experiment to test a factor that may affect the acceleration of the paper tape. Plan a method and write a detailed hypothesis explaining your ideas. Before collecting your data you should: state the problem you will investigate write a testable hypothesis (you should say how the factor you are investigating will affect the measurements and explain why you have made that prediction) list all of the variables After collecting your data and displaying it in a table and a graph you should evaluate the validity and reliability of the method: Did the method you followed allow you to collect data you thought could be trusted? Was your hypothesis correct? What improvements would you make in order to improve the experiment if you did it again? 1. Aim : 2. Variables : Independent ( what I will be changing ) Dependent ( what I will be measuring ) : How will I measure the dependent variable ? Controlled ( what I will be keeping the same ) 3- Hypothesis 4- Materials : ( Apparatus list with uncertainties included and labeled diagram of final set up ) 5- Method : ( detailed list with of instructions to follow and show control of all variables listed above )( qualitative & quantitative in organized headed tables ) 7- Analysis of Data : ( present calculations, graphical representation of calculated / raw data and analysis with scientific support of the data ) 8- Conclusion: (relate your findings back to your aim and hypothesis, restate your trend/findings and what this means in terms of your investigation ) 9- Evaluation :Identity weaknesses in the procedure or experimental errors that make the results unreliable or less precise. ways to extend this further in the future. Discuss how these weaknesses affected your data and results. Suggest changes to the procedure such that these errors are avoided if the experiment is repeated
