This assignment will be marked out of 100, see mark allocation below. Question 1. Consider a government policy that allows immigration to the UK without any restrictions and full access to the labour market; i.e., free immigration for a/l economic immigrants and forced immigrants (refugees): 1) Using the lectures and the reading materials, discuss the justification, if any, for such immigration policy using economic theory. (35 points) 11) Using the lectures and the reading materials, discuss the justification and implications, if any, for such immigration policy using empirical evidence. (40 points) ii1) Explain, based on your answers to (i) and (ii), whether, and under which conditions if any, you would recommend to the UK Government to implement that policy, 1.e., recommend free immigration for all.
