This assignment is based on Course Learning Outcome: C1, C2 & C3 Instructions: 1. You are required to carry out this task individually. 2. If any two student work is found to be similar or copied from internet, the students would be awarded an 'F' grade. 3. As per University policy instructors are requires to process all written assignments through TurnItIn. 4. Last date for submitting this assignment is 11th July 2016. 5. Every student is required to upload the Research Report on the portal before the due date of submission individually with his Name, Students Id and Section on the first page. 6. Use the file name specified by the instructor for the assignment (normally your name course number) [Mohammad Ali - 20131525 - MNGT 444] 7. For any work submitted after due date, one mark shall be deducted for each day from the awarded marks. 8. No assignment shall be accepted after the final exam has started. TASK: Select any service organization with which you are familiar. Write a paper about it with the following sections: 1. Introduction - Give a brief overview of the company including its services, location & history. 2. Product - Describe the service in more detail. 3. Process - Give an overview and flow diagram of the service process. 4. Location - Explain why your business is located where it is. Discuss issues pertinent to its location. 5. Layout - What type of layout does your company have? What is the rationale behind the layout? How does the organization manage bottlenecks? 6. Supply-Chain Management - a. What is the supply chain strategy for your company? b. Discuss how the supply chain is managed. 7. Summarize by linking the service operations strategies to the mission and goals. You may make recommendations for improvements. Written Report Guidelines Your report should be between 5 - 7 pages The report should include Cover page with Project Title, Student Name & Student ID Number Table of Contents Executive Summary Introduction Body of the Project Conclusions Recommendations References The assignment will be evaluated on the following dimensions: 1. Grasp of the subject: Overall view of the subject, comprehensiveness; extent to which concepts from the course is applied to your paper (40%). 2. Research: Soundness of interpretation; quality of material; effort expended to gather information (40%). 3. Formatting, References & Similarity (20%)
