To-date what have you learned from this class that has real meaning for you. 1- (a) Demographic shifts: the size and composition of the population, increase in the number of skilled labor will lead to an increase in the working hence leading to high productivity hence high employment. While population with young and old people will have low rate of employment. (b) Technological advancement: advancement in technology which results to production using machines and few employees will reduce employment and also will lead to encouragement of remote working pattern. (c) Global competition: global competition leads to the production of effective gadgets like computers or Smartphone which boost the rate of working and also has lead to creation of employment. It has also increased knowledge transfer hence increasing ability of workers. 2- Employer -employee relationship leads to diminishing of specialization and increasing entrepreneurship because more people are able to utilize technological advancement to work in flexible pattern hence they can work at their homes and able to do several jobs at the same time by involving in part time jobs 3- .re-shaping of leadership management to team focus and participatory is effective means of leadership since it allows the organization to formulate guidelines that will help to make good regulations that will fit all the parties, this will also enable management to gather more information on the arising matter. 4- There is high rate of expansion of US work force and reduced competition for work because they prefer to work at homes and hence leaving low wages jobs to the immigrants, 5- Diversity in work place is situation in which individuals with different characteristics and work experience are incorporated in the work and this allows more competition and innovation. There are many work diversity including: 1- Race and Ethnicity: 2- Gender 3- Age 6- Immigration to united state of America resulted to development of discrimination to the immigrants because many were given low wage level jobs and some were taken as servants, although the payment was good and there were available jobs in the market. For instance Irish immigrants were portrait as cartoons. 7- Change in technology affects greatly international competition hence making it necessary to have workforce which is creative and hence develop systems based on the changes in the situations hence need for adapting works and savvy force which properly understand the technological requirements. 8- Work turnover is reducing because of change in technology which creates room for working from any suitable location even at homes hence making it unnecessary to work from the offices. This can increase the productivity of the organization hence experienced work force since workers can be performing at any time of the day due to availability. 9- Older employees will be asked to retire because of the change in technology which demand working force with the ideas about the use of the technology to work since organization will not take resources to train old employees. 10- Shifting from agricultural work to industrial results from the education training which makes many to study on the industrial processing hence after school they seek employment in the industries. There is also hgh demand for work force in industry hence attracting many to join. 11- key demographic trends affecting working includes: 1- Age 2- Ethnicity 3- Gender 4- Education level 5- Marital status. 12- multi-generational work force is the generation which consist of work force capable of handling several types of work simultaneously: they include: 1- Baby boomers 2- Millennials. 3- Generation y's 13- Generation: 1- Generation y's. 1981-2000 2- More independent 3- Techno savvy 4- Entrepreneurship 5- Team work 6- Respectful 7- Email, texting and online conversation like whatsapp, facebook. 14- Working with diversity will require policies, practice and organization to enable various groups to work effectively by meeting their needs.
