Mr. Lorenzo is a team leader of a system development project. His system analyst team is currently at the initial stage of a system development project for their client, Majestic Logistic Holding, a company that offers comprehensive logistics solutions. The company comprises of several departments among others logistic, finance, human resource and marketing departments.

As the project leader, Mr. Lorenzo has huge responsibility in managing his team members and in dealing with requirement of the client. It is challenging for him to strengthen the skills of his team members in order to ensure the success of the project.

In addition, his team had communication challenges with Majestic Logistic Holdings top management such as miscommunication, unclearly defined terminology and utilising only one-way communication. The team also faced poor user requirements as the requirements given by the top management is vague and incomplete. The top management is incapable of sticking with decisions and always make late changes during the project. Mr. Lorenzo has requested to the top management of Majestic Logistic Holding that his system analysts really need to access and reach out each level of users and departments in the organization. Unfortunately, the top management refused and did not give the permission for the system analysts to directly interview the executives, supervisors and operational employees who are the end-users in day-to-day operation transactions. The top management believed it is enough to just get the information from them as they are the ones who develop strategic plans, know what the companys overall mission and what happen in the organization. They think that everyone is doing the same thing.

Mr. Lorenzo is worried if the project could not achieve its output correctly and they would not be able to bear the costs of those changes. Besides, poorly documented process and procedure would cause delay in the project development. For this reason, Mr. Lorenzo needs to choose the best system development method for the project. Therefore, he asks his team to have an organised system development process and clear documentation of every work done.
