Ms Gabriel has worked as a sales manager for ten years and felt that there was no longer room  for her to grow. She has always wanted to work for herself, so she decided that it was time to  start her own business. Ms Gabriel has always been environmentally conscious; she realised  that this is a growing trend and thought to introduce a snack that incorporated this concept.  For the past two years, Ms Gabriel had been doing research and found a gap in the  South African market for selling natural energy bars made with crickets, Mopani worms and  brown locusts. These insects are high in protein, are already consumed by South African  consumers and are more environmentally friendly compared to energy bars currently in the  market. In order to make her products more commercialized, Ms Gabriel developed a special  recipe using cocoa, nuts, dates and various other organic ingredients to create delicious energy  bars with these insects. Ms Gabriel will start with three variations.
Based on her experience, Ms Gabriel knew that she needed to hire someone with all the  relevant sales experience to assist her, so she hired you, a sales manager, to help start and run her organisation. Ms Gabriel decided to hire salespeople who have recently graduated. In  order to ensure that they are able to sell effectively, Ms Gabriel wants to train them on the  following aspects relevant to her business: the selling process, how the organisation will  operate, the information system that they will use, the energy bar industry, who their competitors  are and who their target market is. Ms Gabriel will also have to explain how they will assign to  each salesperson the sales objectives that they will have to achieve.
The other task that Ms Gabriel needs you to assist with is structuring her organisation and  designing the different sales territories. Ms Gabriel decided that her product should only be  available in Gauteng for the initial launch, and depending on the success, expand to other parts  of the country. Ms Gabriel's goal is to target consumers at relevant local markets and health  store retailers.

Ms Gabriel would like to train the new appointed salespeople. She is considering delegating  the training task to you. In order to convince Ms Gabriel that you will do a great job, suggest practical examples to explain the six  types of training topics and the type of information  that you will include in each training topic:

1. the organization and its procedures.

2. product and services knowledge

3. overall industry and competitors knowledge.

4. customer and market knowledge

5. selling skills knowledge

6. technology based skills that are required to sell effectively.
