Assessment Background \& Question Productivity may be defined as a ratio between input and output. Work study is the investigation by means of consistent system of the work done in an organisation in an attempt to attain the best utilisation of resources (materials, machines, men, capital, manpower and etc). All the management processes and systems in place are closely related with productivity. Work study is generalised as a set of techniques in which work can be improved, through standardisation, making it similar, effective and more efficient. Productivity is also on the other hand concerned with achieving economies of scale there by achieving more with less, constant urge to do the job better, less costly and more efficient. You are required to identify an operation in an industry or company of your choice thereby identifying any bottlenecks or waste in their product manufacturing, service offering and service delivery performance. You are further required to use any work study techniques of your choice to solve the bottleneck and improve the productivity. Your project should centre around observing the process, identifying the bottlenecks, and introducing techniques of solving the problem and thereby increasing productivity.
