n the state of Tennessee adopted the 2018 International Residential code as well as the 2018 Energy conservation code. In which case for one to build on land they must first go through a process where they would then have to purchase a permit to do work on the land, although if they is no work that has to be done to the land then a permit does not have to be purchased whereas if only a garage is being placed on the land then a permit is not required. After the permit has been issued a state representative much go out and inspect the land to ensure that it is suitable for what is going to take place on the land, If the report from the state comes back that it is unsuitable then the one whom is purchasing the land must find a different location for what they would like to do
