To ease the discomfort from the dermatitis. Dr Grant took the gloves off from time to time. but this resulted in him suffering from frostbite. When Dr Grant managed to get off Mt Everest. he immediately sought medical treatment for the dermatitis and frostbite. Unfortunately. two fingers of each hand had to he amputated due to the frostbite. This will severely cut back the amount and kinds of surgery he can do. which will greatly reduce his earnings and his earning capacity.
