Part B: Written Report (80 marks) "Accounting can be defined as the process of identifying, measuring and communicating economic information about an entity to a variety of users for decision-making purposes (Birt et al., 2020, p.2). Think back to your experiences of practising the manual accounting systems (e.g. manual journals, ledgers and Excel) and computerised accounting systems (e.g. Xero and MYOB), prepare a written reflective report that discusses the above definition of accounting in relation to how these experiences influence your understanding of basic accounting concepts and practices. In your reflective report, discuss the following by drawing the resources provided on Blackboard: Identify and briefly explain key similarities and differences (three as a combined total) between the processes and reporting of the manual and computerised accounting systems. Critically reflect on how your experience with these systems has influenced your understanding of basic accounting concepts and practices, and provide examples (at least three examples). Identify which system you would prefer to use in practice and provide reasons to justify your choice. You can explore other issues in addition to the tasks above in your critical reflection.
