Bills of Ladings Required for Letters of Credit

Please note that there are special considerations when preparing a negotiable B/L based on letter of credit instructions. Proper "loaded on board" notations, trans-shipment considerations, valid signatures and endorsements, as well as a flawlessly prepared B/L are required in order for the banks to accept it. The rules and regulations as set out in UCP 600 are explained in detail in the International Payments Chapters of the Essentials of Freight Forwarding Program.
