On Tuesday, September 5, 2019 at approximately 12:05 a.m. Officer Smith (421A), Officer Atlas (422A), Officer Stone (412A), and I, Officer Johnson (362E) were dispatched to the Citgo Gas Station, 1233 College Avenue for a burglary in progress. The complainant / witness, Kenneth R. Jones (DOB 03-30-65), reported that he saw a lone male/white subject taking items from the gas station and hiding them near a tree in front of 721 Marshall Avenue, just south of the gas station. The items were cartons of cigarettes and United States Currency. Kenneth also saw the same subject climb through a broken window on the west side of the gas station, enter the store, and exit through the main entrance carrying cartons of cigarettes.

Officers Smith and Stone took the suspected male subject into custody in front of 721 Marshall Avenue. This subject was later identified as Matthew J. Wisdom (DOB 03-25-91), the one responsible for breaking and entering into the gas station and stealing merchandise from it. Matthew's home address is 721 Marshall Avenue.

Upon arrival, I approached along the north side of the gas station and discovered the front door unlocked. Officer Atlas then arrived on scene. Both of us cleared inside the gas station and didn't find anybody else. The large glass window along the west side of the gas station had been shattered and merchandise on the counter was scattered around. On the ground, leading from the plate glass window were some cartons of "Marlboro" cigarettes, several cans of unopened beer, and $25 in United States Currency (a $20 bill and a $5 bill).
