Explore your own experience with an addictive, or perhaps just unwanted, behaviour and making change.Consider the following in your response, but this is not a checklist per say just a guide for your thoughts:

  • Identify a behaviour that you have been meaning to change; perhaps a New Year's resolution that comes up every New Year!
  • How long have you been meaning to make change to this behaviour?
  • What has led you to wanting to make the change?Describe your thoughts and feelings about this behaviour, include internal concerns and external concerns (other people's advice)
  • Have you ever relapsed? Gone back to old behaviour? What is the process? Are
  • you aware of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that surround the relapse? If so what are they?
  • Are there people or situations which make maintaining your change easier or

harder? Explain.
