Cyber loafing by employees has received a considerable amount of attention in many organisations. Cyber loafing is the deliberate usage of Internet facilities by employees for non-business affairs at the workplace during defining working hours. It is anticipated that when employees fail to use production time and resources accurately, there is likely a tendency for them to produce low quality and quantity of work or violate the expected work outcome standard. In addition to violating such rules, employees also waste valuable organisational time using technological resources to implement their tasks which will also significantly affect the organisation's performance in a competitive work environment.

Based on Redding's Typology of Unethical Organisational Communication (1996), assess and evaluate whether the intervention of monitoring tools is needed and deemed appropriate for the company and employee environment in regards to unethical organisational communication.
