Over the next week, perform at least 5 "random" acts of kindness (they won't likely be that random as some planning will probably be needed). You could do them all in one day, one per day, or whatever combination you wish. Take time each day to journal - note what you did and what that experience was like for you. To make the activity more meaningful, you might re-read your journal every few days and/or share your reactions with friends or family and/or remind yourself that even seemingly small things can be meaningful.
At the end of your week, review your journal and your Adventure Reflection Paper (complete sentences and paragraphs, NOT phrases/bullet points) in which you:
- Discuss your acts of kindness and your experience in doing them, including
- The acts you choose and how you made those decisions, and
- Any changes you noticed in your mood, and
- The reactions of your recipients to your kind acts. If your kindness was given to people you know, how do you see it impacting your relationship? If you were kind to a stranger, what reaction (if any) did you notice in them?
- Discuss how engaging in these acts of kindness related to your sense of autonomy, connection, and competence
- Have a concluding section (one paragraph) in which you discuss how this kind of activity might fit into your life in the future.
