Overview of Project Proposal This description of Assignment #1 is divided into five (5) parts, this overview and 4 additional sections, each of the 4 outlining a required section of this assignment 1. Target of study 2 Significance of target 3. Data sources 4. Project plan By week 4 (approximately) of the course, students will be formed into project teams. Each team will then draft a project proposal that broadly describes the information system they intend to study in the post-implementation review. This proposal will be due on the date indicated on the course schedule. Early submission (more than 48 hours prior to the due date on the schedule) will receive a preliminary round of critical feedback from the instructor, thus enabling a second submission of the assignment within 2-3 days for a (hopefully improved) grade. This allows those who submit early to potentially earn a better grade and provides an incentive to get it done. The project proposal is the first and perhaps most critical component of the PIR project assignments the feedback and grade received from the instructor will clarify whether the team has selected a target of study that is appropriate and feasible. The project proposal be between 4 and 6 pages (not counting the cover page that identifies all team members or the bibliography or the supporting exhibits like the project schedule), double line spaced & twelve-point font The grade on this assignment could be adjusted by the instructor according to the results of a preliminary peer evaluation. The initial posting of the grade should therefore not be taken by a student as an indication that he or she will receive the full team grade for the assignment Alternatively, your instructor may elect to assign the grade for the proposal directly to each student on the team, but to display it (after the preliminary peer evaluations) along with a what-if grade that will demonstrate what the individually received grade would have been for each student if the preliminary peer evaluation did count In either event the purpose of the preliminary peer evaluation is to highlight to students the rewards and consequences of active vs, inactive participation in the team project at an early point in the course
