As the manager of Uniontown Industries, you have a problem. Your company is a long-time customer of FirstSight Inc. Last month, you ordered 5,000 solar chargers through your FirstSight sales representative. The rep agreed to give you a discount of 25 percent on the order because of its large size and the amount of business your company is doing with FirstSight this year. You also requested a rush order as you were rapidly preparing for a product presentation at a large national conference and expected an unusually high number of orders for your product. The rep wasnt sure that could be accomplished, but promised to do what she could to make the deadline.

You received the correct number of chargers, but two days later than required. This caused a shortage of your product at the conference, potentially resulting in lost business and revenue for your company. Also, youve just been shown the bill by your companys accountant and the bill does not reflect the 25 percent discount.

Write an email to your sales rep, Georgia Cullen, Territory Manager, FirstSight Inc., 2200 Ashville Drive, Columbus, OH 43004.

You dont want the expense and hassle of something that may or may not ever yield funds for your organization, so youre going to refuse the gift.

Write a letter to the would-be donors (Mr. and Mrs. Steven Cook, 89504 Carlton Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45213-9705) refusing the gift. The Cooks are major contributors, and Maria Cook served on your Board of Directors, in a term ending two years ago.
