Part 1: Using the Quartus Megawizard Plug-in Manager, insert an 8-bit LPM_COUNTER and view the output in a vector waveform. Part 2: Write a VHDL file that defines a 4-bit counter with asynchronous reset. Simulate the results and display count on four LED'S Lab 6 Procedure Part 1: 1. Create a new project and blank block diagram 2. Insert a new symbol and select MegaWizard Plug-in Manager 3. Select LMP_COUNTER from Arithmetic functions 4. Follow the wizard to generate a plain binary up counter with an output bus of 8 bits Select VHDL as the desired output file (Wizard Page 2a) Append the project path with a name for your counter What name do you want for the output file? a. b. Browse. H:Vekinzie ECET1461Lab6lcounter On Page 4 of the Wizard, select plain binary. No additional ports are needed. c. 5. When the Wizard is finished, add the newly created symbol to the block diagram 6. Add input node and output bus 7. The output name must define the bus width, i.e.q[7.0] 8. Save and compile 9. Create a vector waveform. Assign a clock value to the input. 10. Simulate the output and view the result of q[7.0
