PART 1- yield curve
The following table shows the current and expected future rates on one-year bonds:
\table[[bond,yield],[i1,2024,1.00],[i1,2025e,1.40],[i1,2026e,1.50],[i1,2027e,1.55],[i1,2028e,2.25]]
Bonds with terms longer than one year pay a term premium. The formula for the term premium is:
k=0.1(k-1)
Determine the following interest rates / yields:
i2,2024 This is the interest rate on a 2-year bond purchased in 2024(and maturing in 2026)
i3,2024 This is the interest rate on a 3-year bond purchased in 2024(and maturing in 2027)
i4,2024
i5,2024
Then, using a clean sheet of paper, draw a yield curve containing these rates plus the rate on a one-year bond purchased in 2024(given in the table above).
Take a picture of your yield curve graph with your phone. If needed for readability, adjust the contrast, brightness, or cropping, or retake the picture if needed.
Then, get the picture on your computer. One way to do this is to email the picture (from your phone) to yourself. Open up that email on your computer. Save the picture to your downloads folder on your computer.
Then, finally, click the Image/media icon and upload the picture here.
