When the director of a previous job hired new workers, I was in charge of putting together training packages for the new workers and helping them get settled into their new work environment.
The one worker came from being a bus driver to working with us as a home care aid. She was outspoken and finicky at first, she would be late often, and I worried that she would not adjust well to the new job's demand because it was vastly different from her previous position. This turned out to be a fundamental attribution error; she was one of the hardest working people I have ever met. It turned out she did not want to let the school down, so she would drive the school bus and then come to work. She was an extremely kind and caring person, and she not only rose to the job she exceeded more experienced staff. She was an extremely dedicated worker and took on any challenge head-on. If I had known about the attribution process before, I believe I would have given her more time to adjust to the environment before believing she could not handle the work.
