As a member of the jury in a court hearing involving a person who was convicted of child molestation where the defendant is accused of a series of molestations in the neighborhood, one of the things that I would do is to look for facts to confirm that the defendant is guilty beyond any reasonable doubt. The jury is responsible for gathering facts that would help in the determination of the verdict in the case. The members of the jury need to listen to all the pieces of evidence presented in the court by the prosecutor, witnesses, reports of the experts, and exhibits presented before the judge ("Role of the Jury," 2021). After hearing the prosecutor mention that the defendant had previously been arrested for a child molestation crime, I would endeavor to look for more details regarding the previous arrests, as this would help enhance the evidence presented in court to confirm the guilty state of the defendant. Since the judge had advised that none of us should be found discussing the case outside the court, I would conduct my study and then present the previous case file to the court as evidence.

Members of the jury are responsible for taking part in the process of delivering a verdict. After the court deliberations, the members of the jury are responsible for ensuring the right and proper verdict is delivered and that the offender receives the punishment that they deserve. In the case of child molestation, where the accused is found guilty, following the evidence provided during the court proceedings and also by the prosecuting council, I will be glad to showcase that the accused is actually guilty, and I will ensure that the judge hands him the punishment that is truly suitable for a person who has committed such a heinous crime as he did (Curley et al., 2022). I will ensure that the judge does not show any form of impartiality in the ruling but rather applies all the evidence tabled to ensure that the accused is punished accordingly and that the offended also gets compensated accordingly for the losses and damage that the accused met upon them.
