Cosplay is a youth subculture in which people dress up as a character from their favorite show, movie, comic, anime, etc. in extreme detail. Cosplay is a subculture that transcends through different cultures because the people who participate in this subculture come from a myriad of different cultures and ethnic groups. A second subculture that may transced through different cultures is Hip Hop. Hip Hop is a music subculture created by African-Americans in which they express themselves through rap. Although originally created by Black people, the Hip Hop subculture has become supremely popular. People of all cultures and ethnic groups listen to rap, and Hip Hop fashion has influenced the way people dress for years. I think that hip hop culture has passed through many different cultures, and is a way for people to openly express themselves using music or throught their clothes. I believe this sis the same for cosplay because people are expressing how they feel either through their dress or through forms of entertainment that they enjoy.
