Hello Class,

I chose Vanguard for The exchange-traded Fund for the discussion board this week. I found an interest in Vanguard because all the Google searches kept stating that Vanguard was safest, highest performing, reliable, top 10 best, etc. Even our book mentions Vanguard as one of the top 10 Largest ETFs in Table 2.2, I became intrigued. "Vanguard's unique cost structure, the economies of scale it achieved, and the total number of assets under management allow it to offer its ETFs at the lowest cost available in the market." (Investopedia, 2021) You can invest in over 80 Vanguard ETFs: capital, bonds, retirement, technology, etc. These are long-term, mid-term, and short-term investments. The website describes how long-term investment is the best type of investment and most successful for Vanguard.

I decided to pick one of the Vanguard ETFs called Vanguard Value ETF (VTV).

Description: is considered a Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) US Large Cap Value index performance. The return of large-capitalization value stocks. It is a convenient way to match the performance of many of the nation's most extensive stocks.

Ticker: VTV.IV

Market Value: $135.39

Share Price:

Strategy: follows a passively managed, full-replication approach using Proprietary software to implement trading decisions that accommodate close cash flow and maintain close correlation with index characteristics.

Exchange-trade funds share is mainly traded in the public markets, so an investor who wants to trade in other country markets can. Researching into the ETFs has been super interesting to me. (Cengage, 2022)

Hello classmates,

An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is a type of pooled investment security that operates much like a mutual fund.

Invesco QQQ ETF tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index giving you access to the performance of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq. The fund and the index are rebalanced quarterly and reconstituted annually.

Ticker: QQQ

Market value: 548.60M

Share price: $359.89

Strategy: The QQQ ETF offers buy-and-hold investors low expenses and long-term growth potential with enough diversification to avoid the risks of betting on one company.
