You and your fiance are in the planning stages of your upcoming nuptials and have a little money to splurge. Because you are both lovers of wine, you think it would be a unique idea to gift a beautifully wrapped bottle of wine for each family (or couple) that will be in attendance at your wedding. You want this gift to come from the heart, so you are designing the wine bottles, from the delicious wine inside to the beautiful packaging that each bottle will be wrapped in. Luckily, your fiance is a glassblower and has created all of the bottles himself (free of charge, of course), but you are starting to realize that this is becoming a more expensive feat than you had anticipated, so as the days move forward, you start to put your Calculus skills into play, to help calculate the rest of the costs. Measurements of the wine bottle were found by using a caliper and determining the diameter of the bottle, starting at the base of the bottle and then every inch (above the base) thereafter. Here is a table of the diameters found: Distance from the base (in inches) Diameter (in inches) 0 2.5 1 2.8 2 2.75 3 2.8 4 2.8 5 2.5 6 2.25 7 2.0 8 1.75 9 1.25 10 1.25 In this part of the lab, you are going to review the skills that you learned in Chapter 6 (in Calculus 1, as well as reviewed here in Calculus 2x Position your wine bottle on the XY-plane, and conveniently place your axes. Construct a table of your (x,y) coordinates for your function of integration Create a scatterplot of your points. Use the regression feature on your graphing calculator to find the function that best fits the shape of the side of your wine bottle. What type of function did you find was the best? State the equation of the function selected. (Rounding coefficients to 5 decimal places, if needed.) Also, upload the graph of your function with the scatterplot. Decide how many families you're inviting to your wedding. You found that your favorite wine costs 55 cents/oz. Luckily, you know a friend that can fill and cork your wine bottles for you at no additional cost. Based on the volume that you calculated in part 2 of this lab, the cost of your favorite wine, and the number of families that are coming to your wedding, how much would it cost to purchase the amount of wine needed to fill all of your beautiful wine bottles? What about the cost of wrapping them in your decorative rose-gold foiled sleeves? You found that a company is charging 7 cents per sq. inch of surface area that you're needing to wrap with this paper. Of course, you want to make sure that each of your guest's bottle is wrapped. Based on your calculation in part 3 (to wrap one bottle), and the total amount of square inches needed to wrap all of your bottles, how much will it cost to wrap all of the beautiful bottles for your wedding? How much in total) will it cost to supply a full bottle of wrapped wine to your wedding guests
