Is this a moral issue or simply taboo? State how and why? Should the states be permitted to prohibit marriage between individuals within a certain degree of familial relationship? Please support your position with reference to academic evidence.

Question 2: Same-sex Marriage Obergerfell v. Hodges is the U.S. Supreme Court landmark case decided in June 2015 in which the Court held that the 14th Amendment requires states to license and recognize same-sex marriage. Justice Kennedy delivered the opinion. The opinion states that affirming same-sex marriage is based on four underlying principles.
