Problem Suppose it is forecasted that the mechanical maintenance total load is 500 manhours divided into three priorities, 100 hours of priority 1 and 200 hours of priority 2 and the rest is priority 3 . Priority 1 work can only be done by skill 1 and 2 workers. Priority 2 and 3 work can be performed by skill level 1,2 and 3 workers. Priority 3 can be performed by skill 1,2 and 3 workers. The productivity of skill 1 level workers is 0.8,0.85 and 0.9 on priority 1,2 and 3 work respectively. The productivity of skill level 2 workers is 0.6,0.7 and 0.8 on priority 1,2 and 3 work respectively. The productivity of skill level 3 workers is 0.6 and 0.7 on priority 2 and 3 work respectively. The worker's classification is based on the skill the work requires and the impact the work has on the facility. The cost of skill 1 workers is 50 SR per hour, skill 2 level workers costs 35 SR per hour and skill 3 level workers cost costs 25 SR. Formulate a linear programming to determine the minimum cost capacity to perform the maintenance workload given above. xij Number of hours of skill i worker hired to do priority j work. Min50(x11+x12+x13)+35(x21+x22+x23)+25(x32+x33) S. t 0.8x11+0.6x21 >=100 0.85x12+0.7x22+0.6x32 >=200 0.9x13+0.8x23+0.7x33 >=200 xij>=0 for all i and j
