Police officers are operating a sobriety checkpoint on New Year's Eve. After an hour of stopping vehicles, they notice a long line of traffic and decide to temporarily suspend the checkpoint to ease the flow of traffic. Once the line is diminished, the officers reinitiate the checkpoint. The first motorist they stop displays signs of intoxication and is asked to pull to the side for a field sobriety test.
