Prem entered Bob and Nicky's house one evening intending to steal. Hearing noises Prem went upstairs and saw Bob at the top of the stairs. Prem struck Bob with a screwdriver causing him (Bob) to fall down the stairs. Prem spotted Nicky in her bedroom. He tied her up, placed a tape over her mouth, and took her jewelry and phone. Unknown to Prem, Nicky suffered from chronic asthma. She struggled for breath and lost consciousness. Nicky died shortly afterward. Prem fled.
