Introduction of Organic Dog Soap - Expected introduction date: 1 July 2019 Expected selling price per soap bar - $4.50 Expected annual sales 9,000 (July to September- 10%; October to December 45%; January to March 30%; April to June 15%)
The ingredients required for the dog soap are expected to cost $1.50 per bar.
The coconut oil can be purchased for $100 per 10 kgs. Each bar of soap requires 100gms of coconut oil.
It is estimated that making 100 bars of dog soap will require 2 hours of labour time at a cost of $35 per hour.
The coconut oil is purchased from an overseas supplier and, once ordered, takes three weeks to be delivered. Consequently Nick has decided that 100 kgs of oil should be available at the end of each quarter.
Nick also requires 50 kgs of coconut oil to be available at the start of quarter 1.
To ensure GreenEarth Soaps do not run out of dog soap, 250 bars of dog soap are required to be available in stock at the end of each quarter. At the beginning of July 2019, there will not be any soap bars in stock.
