The Project: The Whale

In 2023, the Norwegian coastal village of Andenes will host the grand opening of a new museum complex called 'The Whale'. Andenes lies within the Arctic Circle but it is a popular regional tourist destination for whale-watchers because different species of whales feed offshore.

The project launched in 2019 and has experienced delays for various reasons, but is is nearly completed.

When it opens to the public, visitors will have access to whale-watching viewing platforms, exhibition spaces, and more. The project planners are optimistic that the experience will be both educational and enjoyable for visitors, leading to a greater understanding of whales and their habitats. Visitors will also (hopefully!) gain an appreciation of the historical and contemporary relationship between whales and humans.

Let's wind back the clock to the start of this project. Assume that the Charter has been prepared and requirements have been collected.It is time to prepare additional scope planning documents: a Scope Statement, a BRD, a WBS, and a WBS Dictionary.
