The company started as a small temporary personnel firm. Eventually, the company expanded into a firm that specializes in staffing, contract IT services, equipment leasing, and HR services. The company is privately held by the MacArthur family. The founder's son is currently the CEO and daughter is the CFO. Both the son and daughter were brought up in the firm and assumed their positions when their father retired 10 years ago. MacArthur and Associates has regional offices in most states and the corporate office is located in Dallas, Texas. MacArthur provides services to approximately 5000 businesses nationally catering to the small and medium sized businesses with revenues under $100,000,000. MacArthur provides services through either their staff or personnel of around 20,000 temporary and fulltime service providers. Full-time employees number at 500 nationally. The company is financially sound and has traditionally small to moderate growth annually. At 50 years old, the company is positioned to make significant growth. MacArthur is looking to improve performance as well as their ability to function as a learning organization. PROGRESSIVE CASE STUDY MacArthur and Associates is a business solutions company which seems to be having a stable condition. Although being financially sound and traditionally small, the company's growth seems to be stagnant. Being in the industry for 50 years, the company needs to foster its growth and improve their performance as well as the ability to function as a learning organization. In order to foster growth and development of the organization at a higher rate, the following changes can be considered by the MacArthur and Associates. The first model to be considered by MacArthur and Associates is to focus on visible skills (Hansen, 2011). They have offices in most states and provide services to approximately 5000 businesses. This is a great advantage for them as the company expands to almost all parts of the country. They need to make optimum utilization of this and increase their area of service so that more business customers can be gained. As per the second model, MacArthur and Associates need to make use of new technology like developing their mobile application for providing better and fast services to the clients. This will improve their quality of service and will create an ease for the customers to access the services provided by MacArthur and Associates. Also it is very necessary to move with the current world's innovation and technology to grow rapidly in business because the firms which do are not able to develop themselves with time and situation face a lot of drawbacks. 1 PROGRESSIVE CASE STUDY Finally, MacArthur and Associates need to increase their full time staff members all around the country to improve their services. The financial condition of the company is very stable and they can afford to bring a change in the organization. They need to develop a better and skilled staff to provide quality services to their customers.
