Operating Plan

  • Description of the event
  • Schedule of the event
  • Resources needed for the event (staff hours, parking, etc.)
  • Financial Plan
  • Budgeted income statement (revenue expenses)
  • What are sources of revenue and matching expenses
  • Additional revenues (t-shirts, concessions, souvenirs, CDs, etc.)
  • What percent of customers purchase additional items?

Cost-Volume-Profit analysis

  • Calculate Breakeven point and Target Profit
  • Consider various ticket price levels (VIP section, bleachers, etc.)

Cost-Benefit analysis

  • Identify alternative venues (indoor vs. outdoor, city vs. suburb)
  • Compare both alternatives

Measure performance after the event

  • Prepare an actual income statement
  • Investigate variances

Presentation

Prepare a visual presentation of your business plan. Describe why you made certain decisions and price points.

Written Report

Prepare a written report that describes the process you went through including pros/cons of various choices you had to make throughout the project. MINIMUM 2 pages MAXIMUM 4 pages.
