Part 1 - Sales Process

A. You will prepare activity model, rules and BPMN model from the assigned narrative below. Alternatively, you may create a narrative of a sales process from your employer (with pre-approval) and complete the requirements below.

Requirements:

1. Write and annotate a narrative from the bullet points for the assigned process.

2. Create Basic BPMN Activity Model.

3. Create Business Plan Rules (for example, rules any key decision points)

4. Create BPMN Model, with relevant swim-lanes. Be sure to include the tables (data stores). Additionally, identify the primary key and foreign key for each table.

Process B

Barbaras Bakery receives call or e-mail from a customer.

A customer service staff member determines if the product is standard or specialty item. If standard, customer service representative reviews the price list for standard products.

If a specialty item, the customer service rep discusses with the baker and the baker provides a cost estimate.

The customer service rep prepares a quote and provides the quote to the customer.

If accepted, the customer places the order for the product(s) and pays via credit card.

The customer service representative reviews the inventory system to determine if the product is in stock; if yes, the rep requests from the warehouse.

The warehouse pulls the item, prepares the shipping documents and delivery instructions, and provides to the driver. A copy of the shipping document is sent to customer service rep.

If the item is not in stock or a specialty item, the rep prepares a bakery order form and sends to the bakery department.

Upon completion of the item, the customer service rep is notified, and the item is sent to the warehouse.

The warehouse then follows the procedure above to deliver the order to the customer.
