Provide feedback and something you liked about it.
1)
Greystar is a property management company that is #1 worldwide. Due to the pandemic forcing us to work remotely, there were many concerns regarding work-from-home and adjusting to changes. One thing the company has initiated during the pandemic were daily comes that became weekly, but utilizing a thing called "team hall meeting". These are mainly bi-weekly to monthly calls, but with the opportunity to engage in many aspects. There are also other calls for black history month, female month, etc. These calls and meetings are to engage one another on topics that are in need of discussion and align the company to a more brighter path.
The company initiated a team social gathering and in-person events. During this year, the company has planned for both Washington and Arizona departments to engage in social events such as hikes, mountain climbing, zoo visits, and so much more. I believe this sets a good example for other companies to try and make people reconnect to the real world. The company has planned several fundraiser events for both states utilizing fun activities and ensuring charity and donations on top of meeting new and old faces. This, on top of team meetings and town hall calls means a lot to me and I'm sure to everybody else.
2)
With over 200+ corporate employees, it is hard to gauge on how many employees participate in real life gatherings. For team call meetings, it is easier to tell on the calls to see how many are participating. The real time gatherings were authentic and nice to see many old employees. I went to a hike gathering in Rattlesnake, and there were at least 15 people from our office. I'd say despite the 90 people in Washington employees that work here, 15 is a good number. Again, I find it difficult and irrelevant to see how it effects employee enjoyment as for real life gatherings, there are a lot of variances on who shows or doesn't. Team calls are different where it's more forced, so I cannot use that as a good example(s). One thing I take notice is that more engagements are happening and more people take part of the activity.
3)
Currently, work has been lacking in terms of engagement. With department shifts and changes there have been removal of roles and unable to take part of certain calls and meetings. With new management taking over, it's been hard to care really on my current feelings regarding engagement. I think the improvement needed is me going back to my old management (ha-ha). With my new manager it has been hard to get to my old self back and really put my focus on team efforts. One way it could technically improve is be more open and authentic with the concerns regarding the changes, and how both the manager and I can find a silver lining to it.
