The minute you saw Eye, you were intrigued. Like most mannequins, shes a classic beauty, but shes much smarter than average. That unusual twinkle in her eye is a hidden camera through which she surveys customers. Her delicate nose conceals a tiny microphone that picks up and records the conversations of potential shoplifters. All that Eye sees and hears is either videotaped or projected on a monitor in another room where it can be viewed privately.

You first met Eye through a friend a dress-shop owner who was trying her out for F. Luis Gonzalez, her creator. Shes terrific, you said. Ill bet shes selling like hot cakes!

Not yet, your friend replied. Luis is just getting his company started, and he doesnt have much experience in marketing. What he really needs is somebody like you to help him out.

As a freelance marketing and advertising consultant, you are always on the lookout for new clients, so you gave F. Luis a call. He retained you on the spot to develop a marketing campaign for Eye Spye, his surveillance mannequin.

One of your first steps was to attend a trade show featuring security systems aimed at retailers. While you were there demonstrating how Eye Spye works, you took down the names and addresses of approximately 500 people who stopped by your booth, most of whom are security managers with major retail chains. Now you want to follow up by writing to those people and trying to set up appointments to call on them.

Write a form letter to the security managers. They have all seen Eye in action, but given the number of booths at the trade show, you will want to refresh their memory about her features.
