In November 2019 she was provided with accommodation in Gaborone and the ratable value is P400,000. During the year the employer gave her a short-term loan of P80 000 at a staff rate of 6% and the Prime rate was 12%. Required: Compute Kenilwes chargeable income from employment for the year ended 30 June 2020 and Tax payable. ( 10 Marks) (b) Mr. Joshua received interest of P18,000, from an investment with Stanbic Bank. Mr. Joshua also has a saloon business where annual business rentals are P124,000 per annum. Required: a) State the amount of interest and business rentals that would be exempt from Withholding tax (WHT). (2 marks) b) Calculate the Withholding tax (WHT) payable by Mr. Joshua on the interest. (2 marks) c) Calculate the Withholding tax (WHT) payable on the business rentals.
